{"id":956419,"date":"2019-12-03T19:03:43","date_gmt":"2019-12-04T00:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rsb-staging2.ca-avance.ca\/advisory-committee-on-special-needs\/"},"modified":"2019-12-03T19:03:43","modified_gmt":"2019-12-04T00:03:43","slug":"advisory-committee-on-special-needs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rsb-staging2.ca-avance.ca\/en\/advisory-committee-on-special-needs\/","title":{"rendered":"Advisory Committee on Special Needs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color:#FED967\" class=\"color\">Mandate<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Advisory Committee for Services to Students with Special Needs (EHDAA) is a committee with the following representation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>7 parents of students with special needs in Riverside Schools &#8211; three from elementary school, three from secondary school, one from REACH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 teacher representatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 administrator representative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 non-teaching professional representative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 support staff representative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 community representative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Director of Complementary Services, representing the Director General (non-voting member)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-theme-gray-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-theme-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#172b54\"><strong>The mandate of the committee, as defined in Article 185 of the Education Act, is to advise the school board on:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a policy for the organization of educational services to students with handicaps and social maladjustments or learning disabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the allocation of financial resources to the services intended for those students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the implementation of an individualized education plan for a student with special needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the Advisory Committee provides information on resources within the Riverside community, and information sessions to parents on research and strategies to help them support their children with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Advisory Committee meets regularly on the third Monday of the month, beginning with a General Assembly and annual elections in October of each school year. Observers are welcome to participate in the meetings and to network with committee members.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Members 2025-2026<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p
